About 7 to 8 years ago, some members expressed interest in exploring the discipline of gas balloons (\u00ab\u00a0Charli\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb) within the Club.<\/p>
In 2020, the Club was able to acquire its first gas tank with a net, with a volume of 780 m\u00b3, thus allowing it to develop its experience in this field.<\/p>
In 2024, the Club was asked by the organisers, shortly before the Gordon Bennett race in Munster, to register its out-of-competition ball (Fiesta). On this flight, our pilots flew more than 700 km in 21 hours, landing near Bourges, south of Paris. <\/p>
This performance qualified our team for the Gordon Bennett 2025, where they will represent Belgium alongside two other crews.<\/p>
For the occasion, the crew will fly with a balloon rented from the French Federation of Aerostations, with a volume adapted to the competition: 1,000 m\u00b3 of hydrogen.<\/p>
The gas used will be green hydrogen, made from renewable energy, reducing the environmental impact of the race.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
