Before the flight

In the days leading up to the flight, the pilot keeps you informed of the evolution of the weather forecast and whether or not the flight will be carried out on the scheduled date.

The day before the flight, he informs you of the meeting time and place. Please note that the latter may still change a few hours before the flight depending on the weather conditions

On the day of the flight

The pilot confirms or cancels the appointment, usually one or two days before the flight, and will reconfirm it on the day of the flight: in the early afternoon for evening flights or before going to the meeting point for morning flights.

Meet at the agreed place AND time. In case of delay, notify the pilot.

If the flight is cancelled due to inclement weather or other conditions, you will receive a voucher for the amount of your booking. You will be able to choose another flight from our catalogue.
If the cancellation is your fault, you may be charged a fee.

Sequence of the activity

After welcoming you, the pilot and his crew will prepare the basket. Then, the pilot will explain how the balloon will be implemented, and will give a safety briefing which is mandatory for ALL passengers. You will be asked to sign a document stating that you have received and understood the safety instructions.

You will also have to give your first name and weight to the pilot so that he can fulfill his legal obligations and calculate the total load that the balloon will have to carry. This information is mandatory and very important, and will be processed in compliance with the GDPR and the Belgian Balloon Club’s privacy charter.

The pilot may have to ask you for help when inflating the balloon. You will be informed about the « how » by the pilot during the « occasional caregiver » briefing

Once the balloon has been inflated and heated, you will take a seat on board and after the last checks you will take off to travel about an hour (see also « flight duration ») according to the winds.

Post-flight

After landing, you will be required to help the pilot and his crew fold the balloon and put away the equipment.

Once the equipment is put away, we will invite you to share some bubbles (local and quality) and you will receive your climbing certificate.

At the end of the activity, we will drive you back with our vehicle to the meeting point (included in the price).
